The Sig Sauer P229 is available in a dozen different variations but I think one of the very best looking is the P229 Elite Stainless. The precision fit, superb finish and attention to detail are quite evident and along with the beautiful wrap around wood grips all work to make the P229 elite stainless truly an elite high end firearm.

The new satin stainless P229 Elite features a long beavertail grip, front slide serrations, front strap checkering, SIG Night Sights, custom rose wood grips, and the new Short Reset Trigger that provides a 60% faster trigger return for high speed shooting.

The Sig Sauer P229 grips make this Sig Elite a handful that not everyone will appreciate and at well over 1½ inches the wide grip along with its considerable weight make the P229 Stainless Elite a comfortable gun to shoot in any caliber.

I like bling in my guns and the Sig P229 provides plenty in this satin finished all stainless version of the P229. Sig Sauer offers the P229 in 9mm, .40 S&W, and .357 Sig however for the stainless elite there is no .357 Sig caliber listed as an option.

The all stainless steel P229 Elite is heavy at 40 Ozs. with magazine and has a soild feel and balance. The weight makes shooting the 9mm comfortable and completely takes the snap out of shooting the .40 S&W version.

Accuracy is exceptional, again I think the weight, wide grips, coupled with the 3 dot Sig Night sights and the smooth short reset trigger all work together to make the Sig P229 Elite Stainless a pleasure to shoot and improve my accuracy.

Controls are classic Sig and include the slide stop/release, de-cocker, magazine release, and the Sig take down lever. There is no manual safety, just the de-cocker which lowers the hammer with a firing pin block between the hammer and the firing pin. Pulling the trigger removes the block.
