I just purchased a new Colt SP6920 the civilian version of the Military M4. I had toyed with the idea of building an AR15 lower assembly and an upper assembly but decided instead to go ahead and buy a quality Colt AR15. The cost difference was about $400, My new semi-automatic rifle cost $1175.00. The estimated cost to build was about $700 based on component choices and accessories.
It is pretty much the same as the M4 weapon used by our military. The only difference is the select fire capability.
Buy the Civilian version of the Colt M4 carbine supplied to the U.S. Government at Impact Guns. It has a 4 position collapsible stock, 16″ chrome lined barrel, flat top upper receiver with a removable carry handle. Own the rifle that America’s military Forces and government agencies rely on!
The Colt SP version has a chrome lined barrel and chamber, and the gas key is also chromed inside. The barrel has a 1 in 7″ twist so it will accurately shoot the heavier 62 grain bullets. Every bolt and barrel are individually tested using magnetic particle imaging. The action is smooth but I was disappointed that the trigger felt a little rough. Reports are that this will smooth out with use.
If you’re going to add an optic you have to buy a BUIS, almost everything are good to go and doesn’t need any upgrading, the new SuperStoc feels solid and works nice if you have a sling with QD swivels.
Although it certainly can’t be carried concealed it is small enough at 32″ collapsed length to be easily maneuvered room to room as a home defense weapon.
Because of its excellent attributes including small size, low weight, reliability, accuracy, and plentiful supply of ammunition, it is one of my top picks for personal defense.
